WANTED: Traders for next year’s Seaham Food Festival

Applications are open for traders interested in taking a stall at next year’s Seaham Food Festival.

Durham County Council has confirmed the event will return to the town on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 August 2024.

More than 120 traders set up stalls at this year’s event, selling everything from street food, local ales, sweet treats and sauces to spices, savoury treats, cheeses and spirits.

And with trader applications now open for 2024, businesses are being encouraged to submit their interest early.

Cllr Elizabeth Scott, Durham County Council’s Cabinet member for economy and partnerships, said: “Seaham Food Festival attracts tens of thousands of people every year and has firmly established its place as one of the highlights of our events calendar.

“We’re always incredibly proud to see the festival play host to stalls from the region’s finest food and drink producers, many of which are from the local area. People come back year after year knowing they’re in for a treat because the quality of the products on offer is top notch.

“The profile of the festival gives traders a great opportunity to gain exposure and reach new customers. As ever, we’re always keen to cater for all kinds of tastes too, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy free options.

“We look forward to receiving this year’s applications and our advice to anyone who is interested in taking a stall is to get an application in as soon as possible.”

Traders are asked to include as much information as possible about their business in their application, including latest news and awards, images of their set up, social media handles, and their menu.

Seaham Food Festival is one of the many cultural events taking place in County Durham, cementing its position as the ‘culture county’.

Traders who are interested in taking a stall at the festival can apply online here. The deadline for applications is Friday 16 February, 2024.
